Biography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Woody (Cheng-Lei) is a Shanghai acoustic guitarist and a member of the Guitar Professional Committee of the Shanghai Musicians Association. Since his first performance at the Shanghai Ikuon Hall in October 2015, he has been actively performing throughout China, and with a growing reputation among international solo guitarists, he had his first nationwide live tour as a solo artist in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While maintaining elements of Chinese style, he incorporates various styles such as pop, rock, R&B, and fusion, creating images around melodies and pursuing individuality and diversity as the hallmark of his work. His expression is wide-ranging and boldly varied, from passionate and pep-prompted to gentle and tender, from refreshing and inspiring to sad and motivating. Specializing in a solo guitar performance style, he has earned a reputation as a “One Man Band” among numerous guitar fans for his performance effects, in which he uses open tuning and a variety of techniques to make the audience believe that he is playing with a band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, he not only performs live, but also composes and arranges guitar parts for documentary soundtracks, anime theme songs, and commercial music. In 2015, he opened “Sound Makers Acoustic Guitar School”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
