Guitar made from a fallen giant cedar at the Otsu Shinmei Shrine in Gifu Prefecture, Japan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Oosugi cedar from Shinmei-jinja Shrine in Otsu-machi, Gifu Prefecture, which was unfortunately felled by the torrential rain disaster in July 2020, was kindly shared with us.
We were fortunate enough to receive a share of the cedar from Shinmei-jinja Shrine, and this model “ROSETTA VESSEL-’21WSE OSG NA\/OIL” was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this model was donated to Osugi Town for the reconstruction of the shrine and surrounding facilities damaged by the fallen Osugi tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oosugi wood is used for the body top. Finished with natural oil.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Oosugi wood is used for the body top, which you could call “the face” of the guitar. To bring out the charm of the grain of the wood, it is finished with natural oil without coloring. Because of the Rosetta Vessel’s design without a pickguard, you can enjoy the grain of the wood, which gives really transmits the number of years this wood has existed for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fingerboard inlay expressing a legend passed down in Osugi<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There is a long-standing legend about the large cedar at the Otsugi Shinmei Shrine and how it saved the shrine after a long drought which we used as inspiration to design the inlay on this model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position mark on the fingerboard represent water drops inspired by the legend of the spring water the tree brought to the temple. It has both practicality and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The base for this model is the revived Deviser 30th anniversary “Rosetta Vessel”<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The model on which this Osugi guitar is based is the Rosetta Vessel, which was re-released after more than a decade at the spring Deviser Special Showcase event and was very well received.
It is one of the most attractive guitars with a unique tone produced by the hollow body construction and 25-inch scale. We will tell you its features below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mojotone P-90 Classic & Hot Rod Pickups<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

P-90 pickups from Mojotone, an American hand-wired pickup manufacturer, are used. The rear position is equipped with a slightly higher output “Hot Rod” model to balance with the front. The guitar has a good response, and its sharp attack and rounded, warm tone make it useful in a wide range of situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

25-inch scale that produces an exquisite sense of tension<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A 25\u2033 scale is adopted for this model, which is between the so-called \u201clong scale (25 1\/2\u2033)\u201d and \u201cmedium scale (24 3\/4\u2033)\u201d. The slightly looser tension than one might expect from the body shape and bolt-on construction creates a unique \u201cloose\u201d feel. This guitar is also recommended for players who feel that long-scale guitars have too much tension and make choking difficult. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The position marks on the fingerboard side have been made of luminescent material since the 2000s model, but for the latest release in 2021, \u201cLuminray\u201d with higher luminescence performance was adopted. This is a specification that is very popular at live performances, where the stage is often very dark for production purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have reproduced the hand-drawn logo that was also used in the 2000s. The black lines that are also placed around the perimeter of the body also accentuate the design on the head.
