A coil tap switch is a switch found on humbucker pickups, which consists of connecting both coils in series. It cancels the signal from one coil and allows only the signal from the other coil to be output. As mentioned earlier, humbuckers are characterized by a warm, powerful sound with a bass-heavy tone. However, by switching via the coil tap switch, they can also produce a crisp, clean sound reminiscent of a single-coil pickup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
