ALBATROSS-JAZZ Model Revival

SeventySeven Guitars’ popular “ALBATROSS-JAZZ” model, which had been on a hiatus from new orders due to the workshop being over capacity, is now back in the Japan Tune-up Series!
While this new model refined many details, the base points of the previous iteration and designs have been retained, including the lightweight, easy-to-handle, smaller chambered semi-hollow body, a spruce top that produces a responsive attack, and modest but traditional decorations such as half-herringbone purfling and small-dot position markings.
Jazz guitar standard spruce top

Spruce, which has long been a standard top material for acoustic and jazz guitars, is used for the top. Its soft wood quality contributes to rich sound and responsiveness, allowing the player’s nuances to be fully expressed when playing.
Chambered body for a rich sound and light overall weight

A chambered semi-hollow construction hollowing out a large portion of the body is used to create a rich reverberation of string vibrations. While leaving thicker sections for the bridge, tailpiece, strap pins, and other areas that require strength, the rest of the body is hollowed out as much as possible to create a large hollow section that doesn’t threaten the structural integrity of the body.
Furthermore, this structure makes the entire body lightweight, and it makes a big difference when playing or carrying the guitar for extended periods of time.
Modest but traditional decoration
Tortoiseshell-patterned binding and half-herringbone purflings decorate the perimeter of the body Tortoiseshell accents on the center split on the back of the body
The tortoiseshell-patterned binding, “half herringbone” purfling, and small-size dot position markings follow the distinctive design of the original ALBATROSS-JAZZ. The total design of the guitar is understated but with accents in various parts to bring the guitar’s total design together.

Alnico 2 original pickup

Original “SeventySeven AL2” pickups are used for this model with Alnico 2 magnets, which gives the SeventySeven AL2s a bright bell-like sound to them with a warmth that does not hurt the ears. It allows the player’s creativity and musical expression to flow.
Kluson® Machineheads

The machineheads are Kluson® brand, with smooth knob rotation and stability. This reduces stress when tuning and allows the player to concentrate on playing.
SeventySeven Guitars Japan Tune-up Series

SeventySeven Guitars is a well-reputed Japanese semi-acoustic/full-acoustic guitar brand that has been seeking high-quality pure sound since its establishment in 2006 and has added a new lineup in 2020.
The new “SeventySeven Japan Tune-Up Series” is based on the guitar-making know-how accumulated over 40 years of experience since the Headway factory was established in 1977. The guitars are set up from the factory with the utmost care to ensure that they fit the player’s hand straight out of the box.
Reliable setup by our Japanese workshop

It is said that professional guitarists do not use the guitars they buy as-is, but first take them to a trusted repairman and adjust them to their preferred settings before going on stage. Experienced guitarists will shave the nuts on their own guitars and modify them until it feels just the way they like it. A good setup is a prerequisite for a good performance, and the SeventySeven Japan Tune-Up series guitars are carefully set up from the factory to be ready for action by the musician.
Perfect string action

String action is a major factor in the playability of a guitar. We carefully adjust each guitar to the proper string action with an emphasis on ease of string pressing.
Fret processing

By carefully rounding the edges of each fret using different grades of sandpaper and steel wool, the entire neck is left such as to let the left hand move smoothly when playing. It is possible to move as if gliding to the high frets.
Exclusive hard case included

A specialized hard case with SeventySeven’s logo on it is included, designed to provide great protection to store your valuable instrument.
