An -ALBATROSS- model made with ziricote wood

This new model featuring ziricote, a wood known for its exotic appearance, is being added to the Japan Tune-up series’ -ALBATROSS- lineup. It features a natural finish that highlights the wood’s distinctive striped grain and deep brown hue.
Okoume body

The okoume used for the body is a type of wood native to Africa. It has a distinctive sound characterized by a midrange similar to mahogany and pairs exceptionally well with the humbucker pickups installed on the guitar.
Rope binding that truly embodies the JAZZ model’s character

Not only has the top wood been changed, but the binding style has also been updated from the base model. Narrow, rope-style bindings adorn the perimeter of the body, further accentuating the instrument’s jazz-style aesthetic.
A chambered structure that produces a rich tone

This instrument features a chambered semi-hollow construction that creates a rich resonance from the string vibrations by hollowing out a large portion of the body. While the wood is left thick in areas requiring structural strength, such as the bridge, tailpiece, and strap pin mounts, the rest of the body is hollowed out as much as possible. This creates a large hollow space while maintaining structural integrity, allowing the instrument to produce a rich hollow tone despite its compact body size.
Furthermore, this design makes the entire body lighter, allowing you to experience the benefits during long performances and when transporting the instrument.
Although the Chambered Semi-Hollow design is based on the Japanese-made “ALBATROSS”, the wood configuration was revised for its incorporation into the JT series, and the center block is now made of okume wood that is integrated with the body back.
Micarta fingerboard

The fingerboard is made of Micarta, a synthetic material derived from resin that closely resembles ebony in appearance. It offers excellent durability and is easier to maintain than fingerboards made from commonly used woods.
Alnico 2 Original Pickups

Equipped with “SeventySeven AL2”, SeventySeven original pickups featuring Alnico 2 magnets. In clean tones, it delivers a sparkling, bell-like sound combined with a warm tone that’s easy on the ears, while when driven, it produces a crisp, sharp sound. It inspires the player’s creativity and enables rich musical expression.
Kluson® machineheads

The guitar features Kluson® brand machineheads, which offer smooth rotation and stability. This reduces the stress of tuning, allowing you to focus on your playing.
SeventySeven Guitars Japan Tune-up Series

The “SeventySeven Japan Tune-Up Series” draws on the guitar-making expertise cultivated over more than 40 years since the Headway workshop was established in 1977. To empower players to create rich musical expression, we meticulously adjust every detail of the parts that directly affect playability, such as the neck and frets, and take the utmost care in setting up each instrument so that it feels comfortable in the player’s hands right out of the factory. We invite you to pick one up and experience its playability and sound for yourself.
Reliable Setup at the Deviser Technical Center

It’s said that professional guitarists don’t just use a guitar as-is after buying it; instead, they first take it to a trusted luthier to have it adjusted to their preferred settings before taking the stage. Veteran guitarists who are very familiar with their instruments even file down the nut themselves and keep making adjustments until the guitar feels just right to them.
A proper setup is essential for a great performance, and the SeventySeven Japan Tune-Up series is carefully set up right from the factory so that musicians can start playing right away.
String Action

String action plays a major role in how easy a guitar is to play. We carefully adjust each string individually to the optimal height, prioritizing ease of fingering.
Rounding the Fret Edges

By using different grits of sandpaper and steel wool and carefully rounding the edges of each fret, I’ve made it easier for my left hand to move smoothly. I can now glide my fingers all the way up to the high frets.
Included Hard Case

A custom hard case featuring the SeventySeven logo. It provides reliable protection for your precious instrument.
