Seventy Seven Guitars brings new JT series models and a limited-edition Aska-Made model [Deviser Special Showcase 2026]

At the Deviser Special Showcase 2026, the jazz guitar brand Seventy Seven Guitars is also set to unveil new products and limited-edition models. From the Japan Tune-up series, two new models featuring ziricote wood, known for its wild grain pattern, are currently in the works. Additionally, the “ALBATROSS”, a model crafted from Sakura wood that exudes the charm of traditional Japanese materials, is scheduled to be exhibited as an Aska-Made model.

Ziricote x “STORK”

Ziricote is a wood native to Central and South America, characterized by its beautiful, wavy grain pattern. In Japan, it is also known as “Siamese persimmon” and is recognized as a premium wood. In the “STORK” model we will be exhibiting, it is used for the top of the semi-hollow body. While retaining ziricote’s signature black tone, the combination of rope-style binding and gold hardware gives the guitar the distinctive character of a jazz guitar.

A model with the same specifications is also scheduled to be added to the “ALBATROSS” series, which features a compact double-cutaway body. It is equipped with an original “Seventy Seven AL2” humbucker featuring Alnico 2 magnets, capable of delivering everything from sparkling clean tones to sharp overdrive sounds.

Unique chambered structure

ALBATROSS

Inheriting from the Aska-Made model, it features a chambered semi-hollow structure that produces a rich resonance from the string vibrations. Designed with strength in mind, the body has been hollowed out as much as possible, except for the areas where components are secured.

The Evolved Aska-Made “ALBATROSS” × Cherry Wood That Embodies Japanese Aesthetics

The “ALBATROSS,” which was unveiled at last winter’s One Day Guitar Show and features an oval soundhole, is scheduled to be exhibited in a cherry wood finish. To highlight the beautiful grain of the Sakura wood, the lighter-colored sections of the wood are positioned at the center. Another appealing feature is that each instrument has a slightly different appearance.

Inlay featuring a cherry blossom design

The bold cherry blossom inlay featured on Headway’s limited-edition spring models has been incorporated into the fingerboard of this model as well. We meticulously assemble each guitar by combining various types of wood and acrylic parts. Drawing on the ideas and techniques honed over many years of “crafting guitars with a story”, we are currently working diligently to prepare for the Special Showcase!

Preview at Sound Messe

Some of the models scheduled to be exhibited at the Deviser Special Showcase 2026 will make their debut at “Sound Messe in Osaka 2026”, taking place in Osaka on May 16 and 17!

Following the preview at Sound Messe, detailed specifications and pricing for each model will be made available to the public on the special “Deiser Special Showcase” website, scheduled to go live on May 22 at 6:00 PM.

We hope you’ll look forward to it!
