Patricio Tobar

Biography

Patricio Tobar Fuentes is a Chilean artist that studied electric bass at the Conservatory of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, PUCV; Pedagogy at the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación, UMCE; Applied Harmony and Electric Bass at the Escuela Superior de Jazz; and about Arrangements with Toly Ramírez.

He has worked as a live and studio session musician for different national and international artists. He is also an artist of the brands Bacchus Guitars (Japan), Aguilar Amplification (USA), Santo Angelo (Brazil), ErgoStraps (Chile), and DR Strings (USA). Since 2011 he has been working as an Electric Bass instructor in different musical institutions, including Theory and Harmony.

He is currently a professor of Theory and Applied Harmony at the Escuela Superior de Jazz, musical director of the singer Sergio Járlaz, session bassist and is preparing his first album with the trio “Electricijazz”.
