Thin, full hollow body with a rich, pure sound

The long-awaited thin full acoustic model is now available from the Japan Tune-up series, which has been well-received for its reliable setup by Japanese craftsmen. Based on the standard “EXRUBATO” model, the new model features specifications that pursue an acoustic tone.

Spruce top and flame maple

Spruce, a well-known material for acoustic guitars, is used for the body top. Combined with a full hollow body, this thin body type guitar has a rich, clean sound. The elimination of the center block has also made the weight of the body extremely light. The back and sides of the body are made of flame maple with a vivid grain, which is eye-catching even on stage.

Wooden bridge that brings depth to the sound

Along with the full acoustic version, it is equipped with an Oban Cole wood bridge made to match the archtop. It has a deeper and warmer sound than its metal counterpart.

Decoration inspired by jazz music

It incorporates sophisticated decorations such as the headstock inlay in the shape of the brand name and acoustic-looking herringbone-type purfling.

Original AL5S Pickup

Equipped with dog ear P-90 type pickup “AL5S”. It outputs a fat and warm sound even though it is a single coil pickup.

Slim Neck

Featuring a slim C-shape neck. It is easy to hold for players with small hands and makes it easier to play complex music with many chord changes. Smooth taper from low to high position helps flowing and with natural fingering.

Kluson Machineheads

The machineheads are Kluson brand with smooth knob rotation and stability. This reduces stress when tuning and allows the player to concentrate on playing.

SeventySeven Guitars is a well-reputed Japanese semi-acoustic/full-acoustic guitar brand that has been seeking high-quality pure sound since its establishment in 2006 and has added a new lineup in 2020.

The new “SeventySeven Japan Tune-Up Series” is based on the guitar-making know-how accumulated over 40 years of experience since the Headway factory was established in 1977. The guitars are set up from the factory with the utmost care to ensure that they fit the player’s hand straight out of the box.

Reliable setup by our Japanese workshop

It is said that professional guitarists do not use the guitars they buy as-is, but first take them to a trusted repairman and adjust them to their preferred settings before going on stage. Experienced guitarists will shave the nuts on their own guitars and modify them until it feels just the way they like it. A good setup is a prerequisite for a good performance, and the SeventySeven Japan Tune-Up series guitars are carefully set up from the factory to be ready for action by the musician.

Perfect string action

String action is a major factor in the playability of a guitar. We carefully adjust each guitar to the proper string action with an emphasis on ease of string pressing.

Fret processing

By carefully rounding the edges of each fret using different grades of sandpaper and steel wool, the entire neck is left such as to let the left hand move smoothly when playing. It is possible to move as if gliding to the high frets.
