Introduction
Entry model with a focus on high-playability

A new 5-string active electric bass comes to the entry-level Universe Series. Utilizing the technology and experience gained from the Handmade Series, we’ve developed a model that brings modern specs at an accessible price. The WJB5-1DX-AC RSM/M features modern specs such as stainless steel frets common to the “DX” model and a heel-less cut at the neck joint.
5-string specification & active circuit
This “DX” model is the first 5-string electric bass developed to meet the needs of the current diverse music scene. It is equipped with a 2-band EQ with an active circuit, allowing for a wide range of sound-making to be available at your fingertips. The clear sound and noiseless output typical of active basses is one of its many appeals.
Stainless steel frets

Stainless steel frets are used for improved wear resistance and good articulation. The jumbo-size frets allow for smooth string pressing and extended sustain, making it suitable for a wide range of genres.
Heel-less cut

Its heel-less cut, which is rarely found on entry-level models, enables smooth fingering even when playing at the higher frets. The slight contouring on the neck joint area also enhances playability.
Rich color variety
The new color lineup is another of the DX models’ charms, with a full lineup of colors to choose from, ranging from standard colors such as 3 Tone Sunburst to metallic tones.
Top-of-the-line Bacchus brand body shape

The body shape is inspired by the Bacchus brand’s top-of-the-line “WOODLINE” family shape. It is designed to be slimmer than a typical JB-type electric bass, making it easier to hold and more comfortable to play.
Roasted maple neck
What is roasted maple?
Roasted maple is wood that has been artificially treated at high temperatures to volatilize the moisture and oils in the wood, thereby bringing the wood closer to an aged state. The aged wood is less prone to distortion and twisting. When used in the neck, this effect not only improves stability and durability but also improves sound. Producing a rich, clean sound with a vintage, mellow, aged tone. This material is generally used for high-end models, but we have succeeded in bringing it down to a more affordable price range.
※The degree of color variation due to the roasting process and the grain of the maple may vary from piece to piece.
