Sound hole Label ラベル

The sound hole label features hand-made washi paper from Fukunishi Washi Honpo, crafted using traditional techniques

Fukunishi Washi Honpo in Yoshino Town preserves time-honored traditional techniques, handcrafting each sheet of washi paper. We have adopted this traditional hand-made washi paper, woven into the modern era, for the sound hole label of this model. Alongside a design inspired by Yoshino’s thousand cherry blossoms, it further enhances the value of this model.

Fukunishi Washi Honpo: Preserving a 1,300-Year Tradition

Fukunishi Washi Honpo has steadfastly preserved the tradition of Yoshino hand-made washi paper. Upholding traditional techniques without compromise, each sheet is still sun-dried one by one. Fukunishi Washi Honpo’s hand-made paper, crafted using time-honored methods, remains indispensable for restoring Japan’s cultural treasures—including calligraphy and paintings housed not only domestically but also in overseas museums. Furthermore, its applications extend beyond restoration, expanding into various fields such as calligraphy, craft materials, art supplies, and product components. While opportunities to use handmade washi in daily life continue to diminish, we consider it our duty to preserve this tradition and nurture successors to pass it on to the next generation. – Quoted from the Fukunishi Washi Honpo website
