Equipped with BOSS®︎ Guitar/Bass Synthesizer GK-5 Pickup

This model comes pre-installed with the GK-5 pickup, which is compatible with BOSS®︎ brand guitar and bass synthesizers such as the BOSS®︎ GM-800. The GK-5’s base circuit is installed inside the body for a clean look, and the synthesizer’s tone switching and volume control can now be easily done at your fingertips.

About BOSS® Guitar and Bass Synthesizers Compatible Devices

To connect to and play on a guitar/bass synthesizer, please purchase the following separately sold equipment.

① Guitar and bass synthesizer main unit
BOSS® GM-800 （Guitar and bass synthesizer supporting digital serial type）

②BOSS® Digital and serial GK cables　
BGK-15 (3m)、BGK-30 (9m)

※By connecting a BOSS® GK Converter GKC-DA（Sold separately）you can also use a 13-pin analog BOSS®︎ Guitar and bass synthesizer.

Boss® brand GM-800 Setup Instructions

Please make the following settings on the Boss® GM-800 to enable and correctly use the functions of the device.

・Update your GM-800 to version 1.10 or later.
・Select “GK-5Kit6” in GK TYPE under GK SETTING.
・Select “NORMAL” in PU DIRECTION under GK SETTING.
・Set OUTPUT MODE to “SYN/NORM” or “NORM MIX” in the OUTPUT SELECT of the IN/OUT SETTING.

Bass Neck Vol：Adjusts the volume of the neck pickup. Turning it clockwise increases the volume, and turning it counterclockwise decreases the volume.

Bass Bridge Vol：Adjusts the volume of the bridge pickup. Turning it clockwise increases the volume, and turning it counterclockwise decreases the volume.

Bass Tone：Adjusts the tone of the bass. Turning it around counter-clockwise cuts off the high-frequency range, resulting in a rounder sound. (When pulled up, the turbo switch is turned on and the pickups are connected in series.)

GK Vol：Adjusts the volume of the guitar and bass synthesizers.

GK Tone Selector：Switches between guitar and bass synthesizer tones.

GK / MIX / BASS Select SW：The output can be switched according to the performance situation.
・GK … Guitar and bass synthesizer audio output only
・MIX … Outputs both the audio of the guitar/bass synthesizer and the audio of the guitar itself
・BSS… Bass audio output only

Gt. Output：Used for stand-alone guitar use. Compatible with general guitar-shielded cables.

GK Output：Used to connect to a guitar or bass synthesizer.
※GK Output is only compatible with BOSS® Digital Serial GK cables.

It can also be used as a regular electric guitar/bass

It can also be used as a normal electric guitar/bass by connecting the output of the regular pickup to a guitar/bass amp with a standard shielded cable.
Please make sure to use only one of the two outputs at a time. Connecting cables to both outputs simultaneously will cause issues and affect the sound output.

Roasted Maple Neck

This model uses roasted maple with a distinctive appearance for the neck and fingerboard. Not only the tone but also the texture gives a vintage-like feel.

Downsized body shape

This 4-string electric bass features a dinky-shaped body that is slightly slimmer than the full-size model. Nato is used for the body material, giving it a well-balanced sound as an instrument.
