For many decades, Headway Co., Ltd., Diviser Co., Ltd. has operated under its own brand in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, a region renowned for its thriving woodworking industry, and has continued to craft guitars and wholesale them to music stores and other businesses throughout Japan and overseas.
It has been quite some time since the technical prowess of Japanese craftsmanship became widely recognized and Japanese brands began to gain global support, and while our distribution network continues to expand year by year, we believe we are still only halfway to achieving our highest goals.
The music distribution landscape has changed, and the ways people engage with music have become more diverse than ever before. Consequently, the relationship between users and guitars and other musical instruments is also evolving.

Overseas Business Division (In-House Translation and Overseas Public Relations)
Work Tasks
- English translation of product pages
- English social media accounts management
- Customer support services for overseas end users
Required Experience and Qualifications
- English reading, writing, and speaking skills
- General knowledge and interest in guitars and basses
- Japanese reading, writing, and speaking skills
- Preferably already residing in Japan

I have been in this role for six years, ever since joining the company in 2020. I’m originally from South America, but because I wanted to live in Japan, I studied Japanese at a vocational school here and joined Deviser. My main responsibilities include translating new product pages, special websites, and news articles into English, as well as preparing daily social media posts. In addition, I handle inquiries from overseas customers and dealers and place orders for overseas parts providers; however, in terms of time allocation, about 70 percent of my work consists of translation work and social media management.
My translation work covers a wide range of tasks, including translating printed materials such as brochures and contacting dealers about new product campaigns. Particularly when creating content for new products or special feature pages, revisions and additions to the draft often come in right up until the moment of publication. So it’s crucial to maintain clear communication within the team and to always double-check that the translation accurately matches the original Japanese text.
With so many products being released and a large volume of translations to handle, I’m sometimes pressed for time. However, I see every day how the information I translate and share reaches our overseas users and generates a lot of feedback. Through that feedback from our customers, I find this job deeply rewarding and fulfilling.
