Headway Essential Edition is a new series proposed by Headway for those just starting guitar and players who want to enjoy music in their daily lives.
While retaining the essential elements that define Headway’s character, such as it being “a guitar that delivers long-lasting, beautiful sound” and “rich resonance,” which we have cherished since our founding, we have achieved a price point accessible to entry-level players.
We hope this guitar will allow you to experience Headway’s values and feel the joy of making music.

Solid body top

Solid wood refers to a single piece of wood cut directly from a tree trunk, as opposed to multiple layers glued together. Compared to laminated wood tops, which are made by laminating layers, solid wood tops transmit vibrations more readily, producing a more natural and rich resonance. The Essential Edition employs solid wood for the body top, which significantly impacts the sound, pursuing the exceptional resonance that Headway has always valued.

Additionally, one characteristic of solid wood is that its resonance develops over time as it is played, allowing you to enjoy the evolution of its sound over a long period.

Cow bone nut & saddle

For the nut and saddle, which are crucial components that support the strings on an acoustic guitar, we’ve employed genuine cow bone, a material also used in high-end guitars. Compared to the resin commonly found on budget instruments, cow bone delivers a focused, cohesive sound. Furthermore, its appearance and feel, imbued with the warmth unique to natural materials, significantly enhance the joy of owning a guitar that uses them.

Satin-finished neck

The neck features a smooth satin finish that feels pleasant to the touch. This improves the ease with which your left hand glides over the neck, supporting smooth chord changes and finger movements.
Meanwhile, the body features a luxurious gloss finish, and through Headway’s traditional “post-processing assembly method,” the body and neck with different finishes are seamlessly joined together.

Multi-binding decoration

Because it’s an instrument designed for you to handle almost every day, we paid meticulous attention to every detail of its decoration to ensure you feel that instant satisfaction and joy of owning it the moment you pick it up. The body’s perimeter features multi-layered binding made of alternating white and black celluloid, subtly enhancing its premium feel.
