A Thorough Analysis

The Bacchus Japan Tune-up Series Is Here!

The Japan Tune-up series (commonly referred to as the “JT series”), which has been highly acclaimed by Headway and Seventy Seven, has finally been launched at Bacchus. The series is designed to produce instruments that can be used by players right out of the box, and each and every one of them is carefully tuned and set up in a special department in Matsumoto, Nagano, Japan. The spirit of the Handmade Series, Bacchus’ top-of-the-range line that started in 2001, is carried on in this new line of instruments that players can rely on to produce the best performance possible.

Luxurious Quilted Maple

*The grain of quilted maple varies from model to model.

The body top is made of quilted maple with a beautiful, eye-catching grain. The matte finish gives a very calm aspect despite the quilt top.

A variety of other color variations are scheduled to be released, so you are sure to find your favorite one!

WOODLINE-like Slim body

This model inherits the downsized body of the WOODLINE models developed in the Handmade series. It is designed to be slightly slimmer than a typical JB-type electric bass, which makes its playability excellent. Black binding is used around the perimeter of the body to give it a luxurious, tight look.

Special brass neck plate

Features an original brass neck plate with a high specific weight. It is heavier than conventional products and features a thick bass tone that extends into the mid-low range.

Active circuit for flexible sound-making

Like the active models in the Handmade series, it has a 2-band EQ to support detailed sound-making during performance. Can also be used as a passive model by switching the mini-switch.

Very popular roasted maple neck

The popular roasted maple neck, a new Bacchus classic, is also used on this model. The heat treatment not only makes the neck highly rigid and resistant to warping but also gives the neck a dry sound with a good rise.

■ About the JT Series

The most important feature is the final tuning process, carried out by our experienced Japanese craftsmen. At the specialized division within the Deviser Technical Center located meters away from the Aska Workshop, each instrument undergoes individual tuning tailored to its specific characteristics.

In addition to the above work, string action adjustment and final finishing of the fingerboard, which directly affect playability, are also thoroughly performed as tune-up items.

In addition to fret rounding and nut filing, we meticulously perform string action adjustments and give the fingerboard a final adjustment, all tasks which directly impact playability as part of our tuning-up process. New guitars and basses often come with various playability issues, but the JT Series maintains this commitment to giving the player an instrument that is in top condition straight out of the box.
