New base model with PJ specifications designed for maximum playability is here! [Bacchus Japan Tune-up Series]

From the Japan Tune-up series, known for its reliable domestic construction, comes the first bass model featuring a PJ configuration. In addition to the classic alder body and rosewood fingerboard combination, the pairing of a powerful P-style pickup and a J-style pickup positioned slightly toward the bridge delivers the widest range of tonal variations in the Japan Tune-up series. Furthermore, by incorporating a roasted maple neck and offering a lineup of subdued colors that step back a bit from the standard options, this model presents players with new choices.
Pickups
Neck Pickup: The series’ first P-type

The P-type pickup, mounted in the neck position, is a split-coil design that is resistant to noise and produces a sound characterized by emphasized mid- to low-frequency tones. It has higher output than a single-coil pickup and, when mixed with the rear pickup, produces a wide range of sounds.
Bridge Pickup: 70s Position

The J-type bridge pickup retains the placement found on vintage ’70s basses, positioned slightly closer to the bridge. This results in a tighter sound and delivers a tone that cuts through clearly even when used in a band setting.

The passive 4-string model features a turbo switch that switches to series (in-line) wiring when the tone knob is pulled up, producing a thick sound similar to that of a humbucker pickup. (*When the turbo switch is on, volume is adjusted using the neck volume knob. The bridge volume knob is bypassed in this mode.)

The 5-string model features an active design with a built-in preamp. It is equipped with a simple 2-band EQ that allows you to control the treble and bass frequencies. A mini-switch within easy reach lets you instantly switch to passive mode, enabling you to cover a wider range of tones.
Color Lineup
The lineup features three metallic colors available for both the 4-string and 5-string models. DCR (Dark Cherry Red), making its debut, expresses a deep, rich red reminiscent of crimson. Each color is paired with a black pearl pickguard, adding further character and a sleek, refined look.
Slim body inherited from the WOODLINE series

As a derivative model of the “WOODLINE”, this instrument retains its shape but features a body with a slightly sharper design than the authentic model. Not only does it fit comfortably in your arms, but it also showcases the PJ-style look to its fullest.
Roasted Maple Neck

This model features a roasted maple neck that delivers a dry tone reminiscent of a guitar that’s been played extensively, even right out of the box. As a standard feature across the Japan Tune-up series, it is equipped with a brass neck set plate engraved with the brand logo.
