Introduction

A standard series model with a better bang for your buck thanks to its finely tuned specifications and manufacturing processes that allow us to maintain the high built-in accuracy that is expected of a Headway product, you can be confident this model will last for a long time.

The bracing we equipped withs model with uses our -Advanced rear shifted X bracing- design.

The -Advanced rear shift- is a design where the bracing crossing point is shifted slightly closer to the bridge. Common knowledge tells us that a forwards shift is the most suitable design for a good sound and that moving closer to the bridge will result in a more stiff and unwieldy sound, but through trial and error and enough adjustments, we landed on a design that not only avoids these downsides but also gives a more articulate tone and particularly a great boost to the sound on the high E and B strings.

The Mi-Si Acoustic Trio System features an active, battery-free preamp designed specifically to work with the L.R. Baggs under saddle Element acoustic guitar pickups, which we used on some of our Headway models for a while, but while that was a good pickup system, we decided to go with the improved -Air Trio-, which is an active, battery-free MEMS microphone L.R. Baggs Element under-saddle pickup system that provides an enhanced output thanks to using a MEMS microphone in addition to its Piezo pickup.

The Mi-Si Acoustic -Trio Air- also has 2 knobs to control the volume and balance located on the inside of the soundhole.

The MEMS (MicroElectrical-Mechanical System) microphone is also called a microphone chip or silicon microphone. A pressure-sensitive diaphragm is etched directly into a silicon wafer by MEMS processing techniques and is usually accompanied by an integrated preamplifier. Most MEMS microphones are variants of the condenser microphone design.

MEMS microphones enable dramatic advancements in sound quality in multiple-microphone applications. Such microphone arrays, facilitated by the small form factor, superior sensitivity matching, and frequency response of ST’s microphones, enable the implementation of active noise and echo canceling, as well as beam-forming, a sound-processing technology that helps isolate a sound and its location. These features are invaluable with the increasing use of cell phones and other devices in noisy and uncontrollable environments.

The intrinsic value of the Mi-Si preamplifier comes from its natural sound and the small and lightweight system itself.

This preamp not only has the advantage of its performance being excellent even with its small size but also prevents the guitar from losing its body balance, also it has no effect on the weight of the guitar itself, which is always a plus.

Its battery-less system also allows you to use it by simply powering up for 60 seconds using the Mi-Si Power Charger that will provide you with up to 8 hours of performance time.

This truly is a match made in heaven for Headway, so please give it a try and see all of its benefits.
