Introduction

500 Series with 34 bracing

Headway ATB’s “500 Series”, with its player-oriented design and modern looks, now has a new variation.

This 533 model features the 34 bracing, which was designed by Headway Master Builder Mr. Yasuo Momose using vintage guitars as inspiration. While the highly reinforced ARS gives the guitar a “stiff” character with an articulated, organic tone, the 34 bracing gives the guitar a “soft” character with a rich midrange and soft sound.

34 Bracing

The bracing was developed by Momose based on the bracing of a vintage 1934 guitar.
It has a semi-forward shift with the X cross position close to the soundhole, which gives it a more voluminous sound with better bass response than when it was new. The bridge is 5mm closer than the forward shift, so the stability of the top plate is also taken into consideration.

Extra Slim Neck

The Ex-Slim U-neck is designed to be thinner than conventional Headway necks and features a high-strength neck with a carbon bar for added rigidity and stability. The carbon bar not only provides stability but also reduces unwanted neck flex and allows string vibration to be transmitted smoothly to the top of the body, resulting in improved expression in the upper register.

Gotoh SXN 510V-06M Tuners

Light open-geared Gotoh SXN 510V-06M’s are used to balance the 34 bracing, which has a relatively strong midrange. The nut tightly holds the machine heads in place so that there is no kink between the machine heads and the headstock to support vibration.

Back decoration pattern

The design has been changed to distinguish it from the ARS version.

-High Density Bone- Nut and Saddle

Both the nut and saddle are made out of high-density water buffalo bone.

Lower string action

The string height at the 6th string, 12th fret is around 2.2mm.
