Introduction

The -HJ-OSAMURAI SAN II- is an acoustic guitar developed as a collaboration with solo guitarist Osamuraisan.

The signature model of solo guitarist Osamuraisan, a popular guitarist amongst audiences that span the globe and different generations, has been renewed as the “HJ-OSAMURAISANⅡ”, with the goal to make a guitar ideal for anyone making and posting videos on the internet just like Osamuraisan does. The concept of a “guitar that focuses on playability” that can be recommended for beginners still applies as it did on the original model, but the appearance and playability have been improved by changing the fingerboard inlay, bridge shape and changing to a matte paint neck that makes the movement of the left hand very smooth.
In addition, the most significant feature is the choice of going with the Dovetail joint & Post-processing assembly processes that were previously only reserved for the high-end models. With updates to both the neck and body, this model ends up with a stronger sense of unity, resulting in a more solid sound.

Equipped with DSP-OSAMURAISAN pickup

A full-fledged dual pickup system by pickup maker Lao Qi, incorporating Osamuraisan’s requests. The magnetic pickup in the soundhole and the two contact piezo microphones provide authentic sound-making that is faithful to the raw sound of the body and picks up the full range of body hits, making it ideal for fingerstyle playing. While the basic mode is passive mode for intermediate to advanced players, it can also be switched to active mode for easy handling by beginners, making it useful in various situations.

About the Headway Japan Tune-up Series

What is the JT series?

It is often heard that a professional guitarist or an experienced acoustic guitarist won’t use a brand new guitar as it is, but rather have it set up by a reliable repair shop or a guitar builder before starting to use it. They know that having an acoustic guitar properly set up is very important if they want to reach their best performance and achieve the ideal music they would like to create. The undeniable fact is that having good playability really makes a difference in the performance and sound of an acoustic guitar. At Headway, with our Japan Tune-up series, we are aware of this, and we aim for superb playability even on our budget-friendly guitars. Every detail concerned with playability, including the nut, saddle, frets, and neck action of JT guitars, is carefully adjusted at our Deviser Workshop in Japan before they are dispatched to music stores. We use the term -Tune up- because the attunement done to JT guitars is not just simple adjustments to make the guitars playable, but they are to pull out the best of the guitars, enhancing the playability and the sound. JT guitars are a good fit for players at every level, from entry-level players to experienced ones.

Main Specs

The JT series employs the “Dovetail joint” & “Post-processing assembly” techniques, which require the same machining precision as Headway’s higher-end models.

Dovetail joint & Post-processing assembly

The joint between the neck and body is an important part of guitar production. Headway has been using the “dovetail joint” and “post-processing assembly” processes in its high-end models, and now, these features also come to the JT series products.

Matte-finish neck

The neck has a matte finish, making it easier to slide your left hand.

Bridge shape

The bridge shape has been changed to a bottom belly bridge to match the custom model “HJ-523” that Osamuraisan uses.

Position markers

The fretboard inlays have been updated to a snowflake-shaped design.

Binding

The binding has a tortoiseshell pattern.
