Introduction

This new model follows the style of Headway’s top-of-the-line flagship model HD-115, but with revised specs and specifications, and was developed by the craftsmen of Aska Team Build in collaboration with Headway founder Yasuo Momose.

The name of this new model is “The Eagle”.

The Eagle, which has been the trademark of previous Headway models, was used as the concept for the new model, and the design has been brushed up.
Inspired by the eagle, the king of the sky, the Headway logo on the head features a new crown design.
Yasuo Momose himself has a special feeling for “The Eagle”, an ambitious new model created by his apprentices, whom he has helped train over the course of his life as a craftsman.

Headway’s newest model, -The Eagle- makes its debut.

Headstock Inlay

Rebuilding on the “Eagle” motif from the brand’s initial models, the Headway brand logo was inspired by the Eagle, the king of the sky, and the Headway crown logo was redesigned for this model.

Fretboard inlay

The fretboard is decorated with Eagle feathers, as well as the headstock motif, to signify the dawn of a new era.

Limited plate & Soundhole label

A laser-engraved plate is attached to the back of the head as certification for the 30 limited edition units.

The soundhole label features a limited edition design with a genuine leather patch.
It is reminiscent of the genuine leather label that Momose used on the HD-115 when Headway was first founded.

Carefully selected materials

The custom builders carefully selected 30 pieces for this limited production from our most carefully guarded stock of materials. The wood selected by the custom builder’s excellent selection skills is indubitably the highest quality wood we have available.

New bracing for a new beginning

Yasuo Momose is the founder and master builder of Headway. The normal bracing used at the time of Headway’s inception was redesigned by custom builders Yasui and Furihata in the 45th year of the project. 45 years later, their apprentices have taken on the challenge of creating a new bracing, the “midpoint shift” bracing. The resulting sound created by this bracing design truly shows the Momose-ism that has been passed down from generation to generation, and it is a Headway sound that makes you feel a new beginning.

The most advanced neck grip ESV-Custom

This model features a custom -Extra Slim V-Neck- which has been optimized even further and is only a feature in limited edition models. Not only is it thin and easy to play, but it is also a fusion of tradition and innovation that enhances playability based on Momose’s belief of “Wanting our customers to have a Headway that they will love and last them a very long time”. Compared to the regular ESV neck, this neck is 0.5mm thinner at the 12th fret as it tapers to the high position, making the neck thicker and easier to grip. In addition, carbon support bars have been added to dramatically increase the rigidity of the neck, leading to a better response that produces sound the instant it is played.
