Fret processing, one of the most important most important processes during construction

The problem of buzz caused by vibrating strings hitting the frets is an innevitable part of fretted string instruments. If the string action is raised, buzz is less likely to occur, but this also makes it harder to press the strings. To set up a fretboard so that it does not vibrate while maintaining the correct string action, the judgement of an experienced craftsman and the technical skills to execute such precise work are indispensable. Only craftsmen with technical skills that meet Deviser’s in-house standards are involved in the JT series, and all JT series guitars undergo a final fret adjustment to ensure proper playability and sound.

Nut processing & saddle adjustment to create the correct string action

For stringed instruments such as guitars and basses, the ease with which the strings can be held down is an important factor that directly affects performance, and with the Bacchus JT series we file the appropriate nut groove and adjust the saddle for the best possible string action when shipping each and every instrument. We also make sure that the strings are at the best possible height before shipping. The edges of the nut are carefully rounded to ensure a smooth feel.

Fret edge processing for smooth fretboard movement

The edges of each fret are carefully rounded by hand, using multiple files and sandpaper. The fret edges do not catch when the hand moves to press down on the fingerboard, providing the player with a comfortable playing experience.
