From traditional Japanese-style models to innovative new designs – Custom Momose models in production! [Deviser Special Showcase]

In preparation for the Deviser Special Showcase 2026, Momose is currently crafting numerous limited-edition models. In addition to our traditional Japanese-style models made from Japanese wood materials such as Sakura (Japanese Cherry) and Tochi (Japanese Horse Chestnut), we have a wide array of electric guitars and basses featuring special specifications exclusive to this event. In this article, we’re giving you a sneak peek at the bustling production floor at our Aska workshop and some of the models scheduled to be exhibited!

Anodized parts – Limited-edition “MC-MV”

A limited edition version of Momose’s flagship model, the “MC-MV”, featuring an anodized pickguard and back panel, is now available. While this material is typically known for its gold finish, this version features a black and silver design. The Momose logo shines against the beautiful hairline finish.

The silver anodized parts feature a combination of black and chrome accents, while the black version incorporates a vintage-inspired combination of Olympic White and gold accents. Please take a look at this new Momose model, distinguished by its unique color scheme.

Special “MA” Shape – A Feast of Tochi and Exotic Woods

▲ Quilted maple, specially selected for the Special Showcase, is used for the body top

We also plan to exhibit a limited run of three “MA” (Momose Advanced) shape guitars, which are produced exclusively for the Deviser Special Showcase and the Winter One Day Guitar Show events. In addition to models featuring a body made of Japanese Tochi wood, a continuation of last year’s design, we are currently crafting a one-off piece featuring rare quilted maple paired with a one-piece flamed ash back and sides.

Furthermore, the fingerboards feature (from left to right in the photo) Ziricote, Bubinga, and Pale Moon Ebony, woods known for their distinctive grain patterns and exotic character. By utilizing the extensive stock of woods sourced from around the world that the Aska workshop is proud to possess, we are set to create a truly one-of-a-kind instrument.

Our highly popular Japanese wood models – Flame Tochi & Kyoto Sakura

The King of Japanese Timber: “Tochi”

One of the most anticipated items in our Japanese wood collection is the Tochi wood, featuring a beautiful flame grain. Through the processes of machining, sanding, and finishing, its white grain becomes even more radiant. We hope you’ll enjoy the combination with the blue color specially formulated for this event.

“Kyozakura,” made from cherry wood sourced in Kyoto Prefecture

The “Kyozakura” model, crafted from cherry wood sourced in Kyoto Prefecture, which made a splash at the 2024 One Day Guitar Show, is currently being revamped. In addition to the fingerboard inlay featuring the iconic cherry blossoms of Kyoto, the pickguard has been completely redesigned. It now incorporates a new design inspired by the traditional Japanese pattern known as “Tatewaku.” Be sure to check out the craftsmanship and elegant design cultivated through our philosophy of “crafting guitars with a story.”

Tochi × Set-neck Design – Limited Edition “MEX” Model

As a set-neck model exclusive to the Special Showcase, production of the long-awaited “MEX” type is currently underway. The body top features premium flamed Tochi, highlighting the appeal of this traditional Japanese wood.

We also discovered a body shape that will be familiar to guitar fans. Don’t miss this captivating collaboration with Japanese Tochi wood, made possible only through limited production!

EWC (Exotic Wood Custom) & Premium Collection

We are currently hard at work on our EWC (Exotic Wood Custom) and Premium Collection, featuring pieces crafted entirely from a single block of wood. These collections will be the highlight of the event, showcasing unique combinations of woods and parts that cannot be achieved in our standard lineup, as well as artisan-led coloring tailored to each individual piece of wood. Be sure to check back on the day of the release!
