Introduction

Kazuki Isogai × Momose Modern Virtuoso Series

As the name suggests, this flagship line of Momose Custom Craft Guitars is designed to develop guitars for “today’s great players” and is built with functionality-oriented specifications in mind and high-grade components. The MJS-MV Kazuki Isogai was developed as a part of the top-of-the-line Modern Virtuoso Series to meet Kazuki Isogai’s various requirements.

Tochi 2P Body

When it came to creating this signature model, we listened to Isogai’s comments and notes based on his years of playing with his Tochi wood model, the comments from professional artists and sound engineers, who all agreed on how good Tochi sounds. Tochi has a moderately solid tone that cuts through the mix with a shimmering midrange. It handles distortion really well, coming through well-defined even on the lower tones, making it versatile for rock, pop, and various other genres.

Wenge Fingerboard & Luminlay Side dot

The dark brown wood grain of wenge features beautiful black stripes, making it an ideal choice for fingerboard material. Its exceptional hardness and strength deliver a sharp attack and produce a tight sound. Paired with Jescar® Evolution Gold frets, which feature a subtle gold hue, it contributes to a well-defined tone and accurately conveys the player’s nuanced expression.

Additionally, the fingerboard is designed with a slightly flatter 280R radius, reducing fret buzz during high-fret chords. This allows long notes to sustain comfortably for the player.

The side dots feature Luminlay phosphorescent material. Live performances often involve dim lighting, making this specification highly favored by touring guitarists performing on stage.

Mojotone® Clone’59 pickup

The pickups feature hand-wound Mojotone® pickups manufactured in North Carolina, USA. With over 250 brands as OEM partners, they are highly regarded for their vintage feel combined with a distinctive character.

The Clone ’59 pickup is a model that replicates the captivating tone of a standout 1959 vintage Jazz Master® pickup. During its creation, numerous vintage Jazz Master® pickups were tested, and this particular 59 model was disassembled. Every detail, including the coil winding method and tension, was studied to recreate its remarkable sound. Featuring reverse-wound, reverse-polarity coils, it offers a noise-canceling effect that reduces hum when mixed.

Neck Plate

The joint features an original neck plate with Isogai’s icon and signature laser-engraved. While employing a traditional Momose plate joint to preserve classic sound characteristics, the plate section is recessed, and the area is contoured. This prevents the hand from catching on the plate even in high positions near the joint, enhancing playability.

-New Specifications Following the Renewal-

Puretone® Audio jack

All renewed models feature Puretone® jacks, renowned for their secure hold and low noise. Unlike conventional audio jacks with separate hot and cold terminals, these incorporate two hot and two cold terminals each, firmly gripping the plug from both sides. Resistant to loosening even with long-term use, they deliver stable performance to support your playing.

How to distinguish from past models

Previous Momose models featured only the “MADE IN JAPAN” label, but the renewed models from 2026 onward adopted a new design incorporating the “Aska Quality” logo on top of it.
