WOODLINE is a model introduced in 2000 that laid the foundation for the current direction of the Bacchus brand. With the theme of “the true sound of an electric bass,” it has continued to evolve through countless trials, errors, and refinements, pursuing the complete conversion of vibrations from the strings and body into sound, and developing finishing techniques that maximize the rich body resonance and the natural beauty of the wood, as well as original parts.
Today, while staying true to that philosophy, the brand offers a wide range of price points and specifications, and the model has evolved into one that symbolizes the Bacchus brand.

Since the introduction of the WOODLINE model, its slim body shape has become an iconic feature of the series. Often referred to as a “downsized” shape, this body combines a classic, traditional bass aesthetic with a refined, stylish look.

The high-end 4-string models feature a “Turbo Switch” that adds body and power to the sound when the tone control is turned up. A Diverse Selection of Exotic Woods

We offer a diverse lineup of models featuring exotic woods, such as quilted maple and pearl poplar, that possess a beauty found only in nature. A thin-coat finish that highlights the wood’s natural texture further enhances their appeal. Additionally, the thin-coat finish minimizes interference with the body’s vibrations, contributing to a rich, resonant sound.

The solid-color models feature alder wood, which produces a well-balanced sound.

Featuring specifications designed to maximize playing performance, such as a roasted maple neck (*) that offers high rigidity and is resistant to warping, a brass neck plate that enhances the density of the mid-to-low frequency range, and various components selected with noise reduction and durability in mind, this instrument is a meticulously crafted model tailored for players engaged in professional-level performance.

Tuning performed by a specialized department in Japan

Products in the “Japan Tune-up Series” are manufactured at carefully selected overseas workshops and then undergo final adjustments at the Deviser Technical Center’s Assembly Department in Japan, which is staffed by expert craftsmen. With a focus on the feel the musician experiences when actually playing the instrument, we perform thorough tuning down to the finest details to ensure exceptional playability and maximize the instrument’s tonal potential.

Rather than merely performing a basic setup, we carefully assess the condition of each individual instrument and meticulously adjust every detail, including string action and fret work, to achieve superior playability and a comfortable playing experience.

A Step Above the Entry-Level Class

Even in the Universe Series, which is positioned as the entry-level line for the Bacchus brand, the company draws on the expertise it has cultivated through many years of instrument manufacturing in Japan.

Models bearing the “DX” designation feature specifications that rival those of higher-end models, such as stainless steel frets with excellent wear resistance and a heel-less cut that ensures smooth playability even on the higher frets. This series is highly recommended not only for players just starting out on the bass but also for experienced players who pay close attention to every detail.
